Barbie turned the big 'ol 5-0 the other day, so it's only fitting she celebrated in style.
Yesterday's birthday festivities were held at a Malibu beach house that interior designer Jonathan Adler decked out in pink while DJ AM entertained celebrities, socialites, and people who are famous for doing absolutely nothing (:cough: Lauren Conrad :cough:), at the leggy blonde's par-tay.
Though her birthday has passed, she's celebrating all year long. Why? Because she's friggin' Barbie. Duh. This girl has been an astronaut, rock star, princess, ice skater, doctor, and a bunch of other things. Need I say more?
A modern day take on the original Barbie has been made and will be sold in stores for $3, the same price Babs was back in '59 (pictured above). There is also a special 50th Anniversary doll thats clad in a cream gown with golden accents, aptly priced at $50. She can be found at Barbie Collector.

Others who are pitching in on Barbie's 50th are Bloomingdale's, Sephora, Fred Segal, Target, Wal-Mart, Toys 'R Us, FAO Schwarz, and Kohls just to name a few. Over at Sephora is the Barbie Loves Stila line of make-up. There's a set of four paint cans with a different Barbie that inspires each color palette ($40 each).
