USA Today released images of Tim Burton's 'Wonderland' Which is due in theaters on March 10, 2010. I'm very excited about this surreal take on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland under the vision of Tim Burton, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for more news on the making of this movie as it develops!
Johnny Depp will be voicing the Mad Hatter (his 7th collaboration with Burton), Micheal Sheen will be playing the white rabbit, Christopher Lee as the Jabberwock and 19 year old Australian actress Mia Wasikowska as Alice.
I know it's been awhile since I've posted, college has taken over my life, but i had to blog about the event I'm going to tonight!
Clay Enos, the photographer that is responsible for taking all of the promotional photos for The Watchmen is speaking tonight and promises to gush about all the behind the scenes work with the movie, the characters and actors in the movie. He will be speaking at the Apple Store at 6:30pm tonight (May 21st).
Clay Enos has been capturing images of interesting people and places his whole career. Not a Watchmen Fan? His other work has a variety of documentary and celebrity work that many would enjoy. If you are going to be in the area, i think you should check it out!

Dreamworks Animation has been in the shadow of Pixar for quite some time now(aside from their huge hit Shrek). Now Dreamworks is trying to step out into the light and they're doing it in the 3rd Dimension.
Dreamworks promoted their newest movieMonsters vs. Aliens at this years superbowl in an interactive ad campaign after the halftime show. The movie can be seen in 3D at theaters with Real D 3D and IMAX 3D screens. Monsters vs. Aliens hits theaters on March 27th.
Dreamworks is banking that 3D is going to be a huge hit with their second 3D film on the way. On March 26th 2010 they have a 3D film called How to Train Your Dragon slated for release. This movie is based off the children's book of the same name by Cressida Cowell. The cast and crew has already been announced, including two-time Emmy Award winner Peter Hastings in the Director's chair and the leading role of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third voiced by Jay Baruchel (Knocked up and Tropic Thunder).
The movie synopsis is described in Dreamwork's news release as, "A comic adventure set in the mythical world of Vikings. How to Train Your Dragon centers around Hiccup Horrendous the Third, a scrawny teenaged Viking who lives on the island of Berk in the North Sea who must capture and subdue a wild dragon from Dragon Island."
Will Dreamwork's 3D bring them to the forefront of animated stardome? I guess we'll have to wait and see, the movie looks like it's going to be pretty funny.
After watching the movie, "21" I wished I was a student at MIT doing something totally awesome. Today I became a little bit more jealous, I know it's early but all I want for Christmas is an MIT brain. :)

The MIT Media Lab created an invention called, "Sixth Sense." Describing this device isn't going to do it justice, so here is a video. Once it has a sleeker more attractive design, this could be a daily accessory. (Man, I feel geeky for posting this one)
The South by Southwest Music and Media Conference (SXSW) happens once a year, and it attracts thousands. People fly out from around the country to check out concerts by little known bands, that for SXSW standards, are going to be that year's up and comers. The attendees will be able to say they saw them first when their friends are getting a first listen on the radio.
It combines, live music, behind the scenes of film making and everything that is new in media & technology. Sounds like a Goobers paradise :)
If you are close to Austin TX, check it out March 13-22.
There will be over 1,800 musical performances on 80 of Austin's stages. EPIC.
I have to mention that Diggnation will be having a live show on March 14th at Stubb's, all ages. Go get your drink on with the Digg boys!

I don't know about anyone else but I'm totally excited about Amazon's Kindle II.
The idea of being able to download today's paper with the 3G network (same network cell phone's use, so you don't have to be in a "Wifi Hotspot" to download) is amazing to me. You can also carry around plenty of reading to keep you occupied for awhile. The pricing is something worth mentioning too, The Kindle is too steep for my budget at $359.00 (which is the only reason i don't own one yet) but once you own it, you will see savings across the board on your book purchases. So if you buy a lot of books you will save more in the long run.
You have a selection of over 240,000 books and it is continually growing. If there's a new book out that you are interested in reading search it on Amazon, you will probably see the option to buy it for the Kindle at around half price. Then you download it immediately, no waiting for the book to ship.
Downsides of the Kindle, it will never replace books that have images inside it(like comic books), unless the screen gets better and can show color. It also feels weird not owning the books on the shelf, they are all just downloads to read, it takes away some of the excitement of turning the page and holding a book in your hands.
My plan is to wait it out until the price drops.... :)
As the first Goober to see "Watchmen," I feel it is my duty to make a statement:
THIS MOVIE IS NOT FOR KIDS, YO!
Most of the hardcore fans have already watched the movie and understood that the blood and gore would fill this movie, but I believe for the casual viewer the previews may have made it seem like another action flick (like Spiderman or The Dark Knight).
In my theater were 3 familys with young children, and all left during the movie with their kids in tow. Why? Its GRAPHIC (DUH! It's based off a "Graphic" Novel)
So for those of you who are thinking of taking your younger siblings or children, DONT!
There are fully nude men and women in the movie, as well as VERY bloody graphic scenes of violence.
So get a sitter and make it a night out for you and your spouse. Because the movie is awesome!

I've been the happy owner of a Zune 30GB for quite some time (aside from the whole Y2K fiasco), only recently did I take advantage of their Podcast Download section (usable for Zune owners only, sorry!) I've been discovering some awesome podcasts.
My recent Favorite? Diggnation. Which is a show all about their website, Digg.com. Have you ever been on the web, bored as hell and thought, “I wish there was a website where I can check out what everyone else is checking out on the net,” well your dream has come true, that's what Digg.com is all about. Digg is a user based site that lets anyone post up articles, pictures or video's that they “Dig,” and then everyone votes weather they Dig it too. The Diggnation podcast counts down all of the top “Diggs.” for the week. Kevin Rose (A San Francisco resident) and Alex Albrecht host this witty countdown of diggable pieces of information.
The current top Dig? There's a new title sequence for the Simpson's. Doh! Dug by over 5,700 people, here's the clip that everyone's voting for:
