The track listings for The Twilight Saga: New Moon's soundtrack has just been released. Fans of some of these bands may be up in arms at the participation of their beloved music being exposed to Twilighters. I can't say I really blame them because I was furious when I found out Death Cab For Cutie weren't only on it, but their single "Meet Me On The Equinox" would be the first single.

But y'know what? I'm [kinda] over it. Twilight actually had a pretty good soundtrack and New Moon doesn't look like it'll be too shabby either.

It's a Black Wedding for Meg & Dia

The literature loving quintet Meg & Dia (named after the sibling front women of the band) are making a comeback with Here, Here, and Here, the follow up to their 2007 major label debut Something Real.

Meg & Dia's claim to geekdom: Their song "Roses" was featured in the TMNT soundtrack. 

They're bookworms too -- a lot of their songs are based on literature. Off their new album, "Hug Me" is inspired by Aldous Huxley's novel Brave New World.

Monumental News from Incubus!

"Shut up!"

Those were my exact words to Ryan when he told me the BEST news I've heard all week. Incubus has a new single on the way and THEY'RE GOING ON TOUR! Some of you Incubus fans may already be aware that they've been back in the studio recording some new stuff, but the wait is almost over. Their newest single, "Black Heart Inertia," is set to hit the radio on April 16th.

Don't get too excited though, because they're not releasing a completely new album. "Black Heart Inertia" is one of two new tracks ["Midnight Swim" being the other] that will be on their Greatest Hits collection, Monuments and Melodies, which features 13 of Incubus' most popular singles. But the boys from Incubus do not disappoint. Since this is a 2-disc collection, the 2nd disc to the album includes Incubus b-sides and rarities - like their acoustic version of "A Certain Shade of Green" [one of my faves] and a cover of Prince's "Let's Go Crazy."

Monuments and Melodies comes out on June 16th, but is available for pre-order here. It's available in the aforementioned 2-disc version for $14.99, or you can pick up a 4-LP set in vinyl for $22.99 - I just might have to buy both! And that's not all folks! If you pre-order the album, you get a special access code for a new section on www.enjoyincubus.com called The Vault, which will have "the largest collection of rare Incubus audio, video, and photos ever assembled." Plus, you'll have "Black Heart Inertia" sent to you when it's released, and you get first dibs on pre-sale to tickets to their upcoming tour!

Which transitions into the part of this news I'm most excited about... TOUR! For anyone who's seen these guys live, you understand why - they put on one of the best live shows. It's not that they have a bunch of flashy gimmicks - because they don't. It's all about the energy they put into their music while performing. Incubus has MAD stage presence. Anyhow, the tour kicks off on July 9th in San Diego, CA, which is perfect for me because I'm moving there that month! Yay!

Lily Allen: It's Not Me, It's You

After undergoing much public scrutiny for her drunken soirees, filthy vernacular, unfortunate miscarriage, and rivalries with Amy Winehouse and Cheryl Tweedy, Lily Allen managed to write and record new music to grace us all with in the form of her sophomore effort "It's Not You, It's Me," which came out this past Tuesday, the 10th.

This time around Lily's ditched her reggae pop sound and traded it in for songs driven by toned down electro beats and pianos, but her cheekiness and wit are still present in her lyrics. 

Love in all its forms, like on her last album "Alright, Still," is a constant theme. The western tinged "Not Fair" laments about an almost perfect guy. His flaw? He can't make her scream in the sack. But she also touches on iffy subjects like God in "Him." Lily goes so far as to mention 9/11. "Ever since he can remember people have died in his good name/ Long before that September/ Long before hijacking planes/ He's lost the will he can't decide/ He doesn't know who's right or wrong." 

Another track worth mentioning is the oxymoronic "Fuck You" -- it's piano arrangement is super perky and Lily's vocals sound so adorable as she coos, "So you say/ It's not okay to be gay/ Well I think you're just evil/ You're just some racist/ Who can't tie my laces/ You're point of view is medieval." 

Lily's dodged the sophomore slump with "It's Not You, It's Me." It's worth a listen, plus right now it's only $3.99 on Amazon. Need more convincing? Check out the video to her first single "The Fear."
